Cardiff City have made a substantial £1m offer for Hibernian striker Derek Riordan. The scottish striker scoreds
23 goals for the Easter Road side last season but will leave the club for free at the end of the season if he doesn't
sign a new deal with Hibs. Hibs manager Tony Mowbray branded Riordan as "irreplaceable" for a club like Hibs.
Hibernian 3 - 0 Livingston
Saturday 13th August
After a dissappointing start to their season, Hibernian bounced back in superb form against Livingston today.
Hibernian started well but didn't manage to make the breakthrough until the 40th minute but when the goal came it came in
style with David Murphy cutting in from the left flank before curling the ball into the top corner with his weaker right foot.
Only 2 minutes later, Hibs midfielder Dean Shiels doubled their lead with lovely footwork inside the box to be the 'keeper
before slotting the ball home. Hibs started the second half very well and scored their 3rd goal only 8 minutes in when
Garry O'Connor drove the ball past Livvy 'keeper Roddy McKenzie. Hibernians 3rd goal effectively killed the game as
the only action after that goal was Livingston's 5th booking which was the 5th booking for a foul on Scott Brown. An
overall great performance from the Hibees which gives them their first win of the season.
